THE PROBLEM OF THE HEARING IMPAIRED IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM! To be hard of hearing is enough stress. To be hard of hearing in a developing country where everyday preoccupation is with the need for physical and biological survival (Maslow's first hierachy of needs) is double stress. For the past 9 years, I have been occupied with serious thought on the best way to assist the hearing-impaired in Africa. Following my fellowship, I left Nigeria in search of surgical and research knowhow to assist the hearing impaired. Along the way, I met wonderful people who, though constrained by their individual local stress, are nevertheless prepared to assist. I am still looking and searching and wandering around the world for the possible solution to the perplexing world of the hearing-handicapped This is my story. This is my life...
